Kerrie Mitchell Photography HQ

It’s been a long time coming but I’m so excited to now have a dedicated office space to work from. Since starting my business I’ve always worked out of a spare bedroom, and whilst it was lovely to able to close the door on work after a long day, I often felt I was less productive because I was ultimately always at home, and with that come lots of homely things that need to be done (i.e – the washing, loading the dishwasher, cleaning etc).

Over the years I’ve explored a few options to creating a space outside my home to work from. I very nearly nabbed myself a studio at Mother Studios in Ardleigh as I loved the building and idea of being surrounded by a group of other creatives and they were dog friendly! But after running the numbers it was an expense I didn’t really want to commit to.

So we started looking into log cabins, garden offices and even for a short moment shipping containers!

Finally we settled on a cedar clad office room which is fully insulated, had double glazing and lots of room to function for many different uses, but most noteably to work as a space to meet wedding couples in.

Gone are the days I rock up at your house like a travelling salesman with a bag full of albums! No more meeting in noisy pubs or discussing photography over dirty coffee shop tables. Now all my meetings will be taking place here in a space designed to show off my work and style with no annoying distractions.

In designing I also made space for an extra desk, which at the moment serves as a space to shoot products on for Styled. But its there because I’d love to take on a part time assistant to grow my business – especially the product photography side in the future.

Chances are if you visit you’ll also meet Tagg and the chickens who can’t resist being nosey when people arrive.

Let me show you around…
